My art materials

I paint on very good quality Italian linen canvases that are custom stretched by The Italian Art Shop, Rondebosch, Cape Town.
I use Michael Harding Hand made Oil Colours - I love the strength and purity of the pigments, as well as the consistency and buttery texture of the paint. It is locally available from The Italian Art Shop, Rondebosch, Cape Town.

I am so honoured and privileged to have received the new Brecon Beacons Oil Paint Set from Michael Harding to test before it is released.
The set contains 10 beautiful colours:
So far I can honestly say that I am really impressed. A few examples can be seen herewith where I have used them.
Watch this space as I will post more about these beautiful colours as I explore them.
I have used every colour in the set, together with Titanium White, and was able to mix a wonderful range of rich greens as well as soft, delicate pastel tones. Most of the colours are transparent or semi-transparent (except for the Cobalt Blue Deep which is semi-opaque and the Bismuth Yellow which is opaque), allowing for subtle transitions between warm and cool hues.
I especially love the range of purples, which are also exceptional for gently toning down the 2 yellows which are both colours with high tinting power. The ten colours in this set offer a beautifully balanced selection of warm and cool, as well as complementary, colours that work harmoniously together to create the luminosity I strive for in my flower paintings.
